The tour to the Chonta Condor Canyon is a full-day excursion from Cusco that combines archaeology, Andean landscapes, and wildlife viewing. The route takes you to Quillarumiyoc and Tarawasi before continuing on to the community of Chonta, where the hike to the overlooks above the Apurímac River Canyon begins. There, you’ll have time to observe the Andean condor in its natural habitat before returning to Cusco.

This new lookout point is a natural attraction found in the Anta province in the district of Limatambo, a 3-hour car journey from Cusco and an hour and a half hike from the village of Chonta. Without a doubt, this is the best place to see the flight of the condor over the Apurímac Canon and is an excellent option for nature lovers, ornithologists and people who want to marvel at this magnificent creature in its natural habitat.
